3 interviews on Monday

Can't believe I agreed to 3 interviews on Monday. Their timings, 9am, 1pm and 7pm. Hopefully, a offer will sprout from one of them. Maybe I agreed cos I wanted to use the work to bury myself to recover and escape from the pain in my heart.

Its true, I needs to break away from the routine I doing this month. I know I need to make time to learn how to stand tall again and remember not waste too much time getting over the hurtng...

A wasted year? A year spent? Reading my past posts reminded me how the same fear and suspicions is still and true even now. Why then did I not listen to myself? Is it cos my heart falling faster? Pointless questions for today to answer, but their answer will serve me in the future.

A friend opening a donut shop in vivocity today. If you have not tried a donut for a long time, go it a try. When I reach there, around 4.00pm, he have sold out all his donuts and baking fresh ones.

I was luckily, I was able to get my donuts after a short wait, I like the chocolate coated ones and they are very affordable, $1.20 for favour coated ones while $1 for the plain favour.

Rainy Day

No, not the Korean famous song "Rainy Day" by Rain. One point I must shout to the world is his dance steps is very cool. Very Cool! It helps that his music is good too!

Anyway, just reviewed my goals for the month of January. Not been blogging every day, almost working every day except weekends (or when the rain starts) . The only goal I achieved is reading 2 chapters.

I must keep telling myself that the one thing about meeting goals is to write it down, read and look at it everyday and remind myself the reason why I reaching for these goals.

Goals tends to be forgotten if they are not refreshed in my mind. I need to do this else the human tenancy to forget take over.

Recruit Express

I met up with one of the search consultants from Recruit Express (RE). I am surprised that RE asked for a $50 intro fee upon a successful match and an 80% of monthly salary as a penalty if the job seeker leave the new company within 3 months.

I believe it is a wrong model. I am not against the $50 intro fee. I believed an a small amount that RE earns from the job seeker on top of the commission from the company.

I am against the 80% penalty. I suspects the 3 month is a clause RE have with the company before it earns its commission. If RE needs to implements this, is it telling that people are doing musical chair very often?

Thing of Beauty

Visited the Swedish ship Gotheborg today, it docked near Vivocity. After touring the ship for the price of $10 note, I left the ship with a sense of amazement and wonder at the beauty of the ship. The snaking rope that climb up to the top of the mast is both ugly and beautiful. It does not look big but it have 4 decks and able to hold up to 80 people.

The criss crossing of the ropes that hold the sail up and yet does not tangle with one another leave me with amazement at the discipline and unity that the ship crew must have to make it happened.

Gotheborg does not have clean lines like a modern vessel but it have a sense of beauty and pride to it that is very difficult to determine exactly what make it so.

Pictures to follow...
